Understanding and Responding to Hate Crimes
The International Center for the Study of Violent Extremism, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Justice is excited to bring to you its latest innovative and free of charge training - Understanding and Responding to Hate Crimes. From 11 am-12:30 pm EST Friday, April 5, 2024, the Director of ICSVE, Dr. Anne Speckhard will be sharing our experience and knowledge regarding hate crimes, what constitutes a hate crime, insights into why offenders commit them as well as address specifically how law enforcement can work to prevent hate crimes, provide the best response for those affected, help our communities to stay safe and best practices in tracking and reporting. Certificates of attendance will be issued for those who take part in the pre and post-quizzes required by the Department of Justice. This is a repeat training of one held two times earlier this year.
